2022 Chevrolet Colorado Overview
The Chevrolet Colorado has long been a favorite model at dealerships like the Spokane Valley Chevrolet dealer. Buyers report that the 2022 Chevrolet Colorado is the right model for drivers looking for a capable truck and don’t need a full-size pickup like the Chevy Silverado 1500. This midsize truck is easier to maneuver than a full-size model and is more fuel-efficient.
The driver and passengers will enjoy the Colorado’s comfortable ride. Buyers looking for a truck to take off the beaten path can choose the Z71 or ZR2 trim levels. Anyone looking for a midsize pickup with exceptional road manners and outstanding utility should place the 2022 Chevrolet Colorado at the top of their list.
According to the Spokane Valley Chevy dealer, the 2022 Chevrolet Colorado comes in extended cab and crew cab configurations, with two bed sizes. Buyers can choose one of four trim levels: WT, LT, Z71 and ZR2. Three engines are available. The standard unit is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that puts out 200 horsepower and 191 lb-ft of torque, linked to a six-speed automatic transmission. An optional 3.6-liter V6 makes 308 hp and 275 lb-ft and is teamed to an eight-speed automatic. An available turbodiesel 2.8-liter four-cylinder engine develops 181 hp and 369 lb-ft. It’s connected to a six-speed automatic.
The 2022 Colorado has an EPA-estimated fuel economy rating of up to 20 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway.*
The 2022 Colorado gets excellent reviews from the automotive press. Car and Driver writes: “The 2022 Chevrolet Colorado satisfies shoppers who want the versatility of a traditional pickup without the compromise of a full-size truck. … The 2022 Colorado’s comfy driving position and robust infotainment system are offset by a dearth of driver-assistance tech and its cheap-looking cabin, but those shortcomings should be less offensive to anyone seeking a more conventional truck experience.”
The 2022 Chevy Colorado’s turbodiesel engine has a maximum towing capacity of 7,700 pounds when outfitted with the Trailering Equipment package. The V6 engine can pull up to 7,000 pounds, and the four-cylinder engine is good for 3,500 pounds.
The Colorado WT trim is a basic work truck, but it still comes with an ample list of standard features, including front bucket seats, power door locks and windows, air conditioning, carpeted floors, a locking tailgate, rear bumper corner steps, a backup camera, a 7-inch infotainment touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an audio system with six speakers, satellite radio, Bluetooth and two USB ports.
At the top of the lineup, the Colorado ZR2 trim will delight off-roaders. It comes with four-wheel drive, a two-speed transfer case, a transfer case shield, electronically locking front and rear differentials, a raised suspension with special dampers, a higher and wider stance, unique front and rear bumpers, fender flares, and a spray-in bedliner. Also standard is leather upholstery, a power-adjustable passenger seat, and a trailer brake controller.
