2019 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD vs 2019 Ford F-350 Super Duty
The 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD you can see at dealers like Moscow Chevrolet is one of the most capable and impressive heavy-duty pickups you can buy. It can be as utilitarian or as luxurious as you want, but it is also up to just about any job you can think of, thanks to its massive maximum trailering and payload ratings.
The 2019 Ford F-350 Super Duty is probably the Chevy's biggest rival. If you’re thinking of buying an F-350 or a Silverado 3500HD, read this comparison review to see why your Moscow Chevy dealer considers the Silverado the better buy.
Interior Space
These are both big trucks, but all versions of the Silverado 3500HD are crew cabs. The 3500HD is a larger, more spacious crew cab than the Ford F-350. Although both cabs seat up to six people, there's more legroom and headroom inside the Chevy, so taller passengers will be much more comfortable on longer journeys.
Reliability
Reliability is obviously important for anyone using a pickup truck on a day-to-day basis, especially if it's for work. With these two, we are really at the top of the heap, but the Silverado does have an advantage over the F-350. In the J.D. Power 2019 U.S. Vehicle Dependability Study, the Ford Super Duty came in as runner-up in the Large Heavy-Duty Pickup segment. That's great for the Ford, but the Chevy Silverado HD was the outright winner.
Trim Levels and Features
Both trucks are offered in a decent number of different trim levels, but at the entry-level, the Silverado comes with a better level of standard equipment. The F-350 lineup is made up of the XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch and Platinum, while the 2019 Silverado 3500HD is offered in WT, LT, LTZ and High Country trims. Ford strips just about everything out of the XL, including power locks and windows and any form of an infotainment system. The Silverado comes standard with power locks and windows, a rearview camera, and a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth connectivity.
Exterior styling
Which of these two is better looking is entirely down to personal taste, and both feature new and modern designs. However, there's little disputing the fact Chevy has given more thought to buyers who are concerned with how their truck looks, and that's because of the number of exterior appearance packages it has made available for the 3500HD. The Ford can be dressed up quite nicely, but 3500HD buyers can choose from Z71 Off-Road, Alaskan Edition, All Star Edition, Texas Edition, Midnight Edition, Custom Sport Edition, HD Custom and HD Tribute Edition packages.
The Last Word
Buyers looking for a full-size, heavy-duty pickup truck to do a lot of hard work towing and hauling won’t be disappointed with either of these two trucks, but the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD has the edge, especially if you want your new truck to look the part. With so many more ways to tailor the styling of the Chevy to suit your taste, the Silverado is the better option.
