The 2023 Chevrolet Equinox is the automaker’s best-selling crossover. According to the Kellogg Chevrolet dealership, the 2023 Chevrolet Equinox receives a few updates for the 2023 model year. The most significant change is the addition of 5 horsepower to the 1.5-liter turbocharged engine, bringing its total output to 175 hp. Torque remains unchanged at 203 lb-ft. In addition to the power upgrade, Chevrolet has introduced three new paint colors and a new brake system called “E-boost,” which uses electronic assistance rather than vacuum power. The LS trim level is now also available with Sport and Midnight editions.

    The 2023 Chevrolet Equinox comes in four different trim levels: LS, LT, RS, and Premier. All models are powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 175 hp, which is 5 horsepower more than the previous year’s model. The engine is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard, while all-wheel drive is available as an option. The Equinox has a maximum tow rating of 3,500 pounds.

      Fuel economy for the 2023 Chevrolet Equinox is estimated by the EPA at 26 mpg city/31 mpg highway for front-wheel-drive models.* With all-wheel drive, the Equinox returns 25 mpg city/30 mpg highway.

      The interior of the Equinox is well-crafted and designed with very durable materials. The spacious cabin provides plenty of room for both front and rear passengers to be comfortable. The seats are comfortable, so everyone will stay relaxed on the drive, even on longer trips. The Equinox features standard cloth upholstery and manually adjustable front seats. For even more comfort, leather upholstery and heated and ventilated front seats with power adjustments are available. Other options include heated rear seats and a heated steering wheel.

        The 2023 Equinox is equipped with a 7.0-inch touchscreen display that features Chevrolet’s MyLink infotainment system. An 8.0-inch screen is available as an option. The system is known for its user-friendly interface and quick response times. WirelessApple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, as are Bluetooth connectivity, USB ports, and an auxiliary input jack. The Equinox also comes with standard 4G LTE Wi-Fi, making it one of the most well-connected crossovers on the market.

          Safety is an important consideration for buyers shopping for a family SUV. The 2023 Chevy Equinox received the top score of five stars for overall safety by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The Equinox also comes with the Chevy Safety Assist package. This suite of safety features includes forward automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, and automatic high-beam headlights.

          One feature we particularly like is the Safety Alert Seat. Standard on the Premier trim, this seat uses small motors in the driver’s seat that can generate vibration pulses on the left, right, or both sides of the bottom of the seat cushion to help you identify the direction of an impending crash. The vibrations work in conjunction with visual alerts to help keep you and your passengers safe.

            All Equinox models get a five-year subscription to OnStar. This emergency telematics system includes emergency service calling, which connects you with an advisor who will send first responders to your location at the touch of a button. Automatic crash response utilizes sensors that will connect to an advisor who will contact help. Stolen vehicle assistance works with law enforcement to track down your vehicle and recover it if it’s ever stolen.
