2020 Chevrolet Trax Maintenance Schedule
The 2020 Chevrolet Trax is a subcompact SUV that’s the ideal vehicle for urban driving. The Trax can maneuver in and out of tight city spaces easily. Add available four-wheel drive and the Trax will carve curves on twisty country roads effortlessly. The Trax is offered in three trim levels at the Greenacres Chevrolet dealer. It employs a 1.4-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 138 horsepower and 148 lb-ft of torque, connected to a six-speed automatic gearbox.
If you bought a 2020 Trax, you’ll want to keep it running like new. The best way to enjoy many years of trouble-free driving is to bring the vehicle to a dealer like the Greenacres Chevrolet dealership according to the maintenance schedule recommended by the manufacturer. Each service interval has a particular set of required services.
Chevrolet recommends that Trax owners bring their vehicle in for maintenance every 7,500 miles. So, the first maintenance visit will be at 7,500 miles, with successive visits at 15,000 miles, 22,500 miles, 30,000 miles, etc. During your visit to the service center, certified technicians will examine the Trax’s main systems to make sure there aren’t any problems.
Here are some of the services that will be performed at different scheduled maintenance intervals:
- 7,500 miles: Service technicians will check the engine oil and change the oil. They’ll replace the air filter, if necessary. The technicians will also check your Trax’s fuel system, the automatic transmission shift lock, ignition transmission lock, accelerator pedal and tires.
- 15,000 miles: In addition to the maintenance service mentioned above, the windshield wipers will likely need to be replaced.
- 22,500 miles: The service technicians will perform the standard maintenance service and replace the passenger compartment air filter.
- 30,000 miles: During this service visit, the techs will perform the same services as the 15,000-mile service visit.
- 37,000 miles: This is the standard maintenance visit, with the same services as the 7,500-mile visit.
- 45,000 miles: This visit includes the services of the 7,500-mile visit and adds a change of the passenger compartment air filter, an inspection of the evaporative control system and an engine air cleaner filter replacement.
We recommend checking your engine oil every time you stop for fuel to determine whether your Trax is low on oil. If you need oil, add the proper type of oil for your vehicle. Stick to your Trax’s service schedule and never delay and oil change for more than 600 miles. Your engine must stay properly lubricated. Delaying an oil change may result in engine damage.
Check the tires for wear monthly and keep them properly inflated. Driving on tires that are under- or over-inflated can be dangerous and may shorten the tires’ life.
