2019 Chevrolet Malibu For Sale Near Pinehurst
2019 Chevrolet Malibu
Chevrolet seems to have a knack for manufacturing vehicles that stand out from the competition. The 2019 Chevrolet Malibu proves the automaker is still on top of its game. The 2019 Malibu offers head-turning styling, a roomy cabin and an outstanding infotainment system. The Malibu is so appealing, when you learn about this five-passenger midsize sedan, you’ll be asking: “Where can I find the Chevrolet dealer near me?”
The 2019 Chevrolet Malibu gets a light refresh, with some exterior changes and updated tech features. The change that people are talking about is the new continuously variable transmission (CVT) that’s now connected to the base 1.5-liter engine. While the CVT was previously only available in some fleet vehicles, the Malibu is the first CVT-equipped Chevy model available to the public. According to the Chevrolet dealer in Pinehurst, the inclusion of a CVT should boost the Malibu’s fuel economy, although complete EPA estimates aren’t in as of this writing.
On the outside, the Chevrolet Malibu gets a sleeker look, with new front and rear fascias, a new grille, and new headlights and taillights. The new RS trim features dual exhaust tips and dark chrome accents, and the Premier trim now includes rear heated outboard seats.
Inside, drivers will appreciate the upgraded Infotainment 3 system, which features a standard 8-inch touchscreen. The response time is faster, and the graphics are sharper. This infotainment setup includes Bluetooth audio streaming capable of connecting to two devices at the same time, as well as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The 2019 Chevrolet Malibu is offered in L, LS, RS, LT and Premier trim levels. There’s also a hybrid version, which we won’t cover in this review. Front-wheel drive is standard on all trims. The L, LS, RS and LT trim levels are powered by a turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine that develops 163 horses and 184 lb.-ft. of torque, mated to the CVT. The Premier is equipped with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that makes 250 hp and 260 lb.-ft. of torque, matched to a nine-speed automatic transmission. As of this writing, the 2.0-liter engine is the only one rated by the EPA, which estimates fuel economy at 22 mpg city/32 mpg highway.*
The interior is spacious, with plenty of room for everyone to stretch their legs. The driver and passengers will appreciate the comfortable cloth seating or the available leather upholstery. Optional interior features include heated and ventilated front seats, power-adjustable front seats and a heated steering wheel. There’s plenty of room for storage, thanks to the Malibu’s roomy trunk. The Malibu’s 60/40 split-folding rear seats facilitate transporting long items. Release handles located in the trunk makes it simple to fold the seats down.
Crash test scores for the 2019 Chevy Malibu aren’t in as of this writing. However, we expect the 2019 results to be the same as last year, when the Malibu received the top score of Good by the IIHS in overall crash testing. The organization also named the 2018 Malibu as one of its Top Safety Pick models.
